Oh my goodness; this completely exceeded our expectations!! We were at the end of our rope with household odor because of four cats, and the only way we had found to mask the smell before company came was to burn strong candles and even wood chips for the smoke. We couldn't eliminate the smell, so we had to mask it with something stronger. (I know - so healthy, right?) I am a nurse, I enjoy entertaining, and I like the idea of friends and family opening our front door to enter a clean, healthy, and welcoming home. The odor of cat urine and cheap candles was getting eye watering. Now that the weather is so cold we can no longer open the windows to get fresh air...it was time to take action.Then there was the issue of allergies. Despite having only hardwood floors and constantly vacuuming with three types of vacuums, I have to wear dust mask around the house. I take two different kinds of allergy medication pills, along with allergy eye drops, allergy nasal spray and I still have to have my inhaler handy for the attacks. I went to an allergist for allergy testing, and here is the kicker....I didn't react to cat dander as much as I did pollen and dust. It's just a plain old dusty house that is the real problem. So we have a two-fold problem: the odor of cats coupled with sneezing from dust and pollen.
Enter the LEVOIT. We decided to go all-out and run it full time on the highest setting for a while until we can beat these odors and dust back. The unit is so sleek and lightweight. On the highest setting it sounds like the window-unit air conditioners in a hotel room. We had to turn the TV volume up a bit higher, but that is a first world complaint. Within hours we noted significant odor reductions. After a few days....GONE. I can't believe it. It is a Christmas miracle! It has also eliminated the allergens in the air. I don't know how to describe it other than to say the air almost feels 'lighter' when you breathe it. Maybe it is because I am no longer battling sinus congestion or reaching for my rescue inhaler. I was skeptical about making this purchase, and now I am sorry I waited so long. I just purchased another larger one. Thank you LEVOIT!

I have used the air purifier for about one week.It is really a great product for my aptment.It is very easy to set up.Recently,I just moved in a newly built apt and it is smell in my apt.So I purchased for two air purifier.One is dyson and the other is LEVOIT.The air from these two are both fresh and I love them.But Dyson is too expensive,and it cost me a lot.If you don't need a fan,I recommend this one.They are both useful for air purifying ,but LEVOIT is much more worthwile than Dyson.I love it !!51 people found this helpful

It's just the right thing to use for air-tight rooms. The machine is beautiful. The purifier looks very nice, simple and generous. I have used it according to the instructions. It has a good experience in all aspects, and its price is the same. The breeze is gentle, and it's not noisy. The air at home is fresh. It's very quiet when you sleep at night and you can't hear the sound. The performance-price ratio is very high. After using it, the floating ash in the house is obviously much less, and the cat hair in the house is not as serious as before. There are three gears. The largest one feels like a fan. It takes 6 to 8 months to change the filter element.
